BleepingComputer.com: Monitor Blurry

Need help with my monitor and hope that someone could assist me.
When I turn on my monitor it seems to be okay, with the message
No Signal displayed is clear and okay. turn on the system tower
and during the bootup process the display is blurry also the windows
desktop is blurry after loading and everything is finish.
The screen is also showing white. I did everything to adjust the displayed,
contrast, brightness, color, degauss, default setting, but nothing improves.
I also have tried the control adjustment inside the monitor focus, screen adjustment,
still the same problem. but when I adjust the screen(controlls inside the monitor)
it became clear, but with another problem, the screen is too dark. it only gets
clear when I adjust the screen to dark and I can barely see anything on the monitor.
test my system on another monitor and everything is okay. I know this sounds like
a burn out but I would just like to get an opinion before I go out and get a new one.
any ideas BC members?

This is a CRT monitor, what size? how old?
Take care inside the case of your monitor there are deadly voltages in there!

It sounds like it has an electronics fault, just look to buying a replacement. Unless it is something special the equivalent monitor will be very cheap, even LCDs at 15" or 17" are cheap now. It will cost you more to have it repaired unless you are very lucky.

Thanks for the reply, monitor is a CRT Acer V771 50-60Hz refresh rate
and it is over 5yrs old. My video card is a Radeon 7000 64MB DDR
V/D/VO PCI. could it be age has taken its toll on the monitor?

I think age has taken it's toll.
It sure can happen that way.

Not all 5 year olds are subjected
to vid card tasks, either.

A used CRT from a business might be even cheaper
and make a big difference.

Bottomline is symptoms would likely
warrent another replacing it now.
