Hi Boopme.
I did not do the other 2 rootkit checks that you wanted me to do from last night yet because I didn't have time yet. Can they be run while I am using the computer? I think I would like to do them because I am still getting redirected all over the place. I can't do any searches off of google or the search engines. I was looking at the hijack this log and there are redirects present in there from what I can tell. I think the rootkit unhooker may be a good thing to run as I have used a tool like that before the last time I had this kind of a virus.
What do you think? I need to be able to use search from google because I do alot of research and in the last few days I have not been able to do any and need to be doing it on my phone, which is a total drag for sure.
Please advise.
thanks, Gabster

Yes you should run RKU. It may slow it down but I understand reality, so go ahead,
How do I get help? Who is helping me?

Okay, so I will run both of the programs that you mentioned to me yesterday correct? I don't know where you are located at but maybe you will not be answering this post till I already run them so I guess I will run those two programs and then post the results and make sure it is gone and then we can do the clean up and then figure how to get the search redirect removed. Thanks.

Thank you Boopme. Are you guys having problems with your site or is it just my computer and this rootkit trying to sabotage me from being able to get the assistance? You guys were down all night and I just made a post to you 5 minutes ago and it failed again just like last night. So it lost the whole post I just replied with and I am doing it again. I tried to contact your site by email last night thinking I was having the problem and not you guys but I couldn't figure out how to reach you. I sent an email to support at bleeping computer dot com and it took okay with the email but I have no idea if there is anyone at that email account to receive a message.
Was your site down all last night or was it just me being blocked?
So I couldn't run any of the other 2 programs that we had talked about and although I did remember the program was the RKU unhooker I did not want to download it from a strange site so I did not do it until you were back up. Now it is daytime and I have not had the time yet to run them so it was a set back for our progress. However, I did look back on my computer to see which rootkit program I had and the only one I had was gmer from earlier this year. So I ran that while I waited for your site to be back up and it did find still a rootkit infection just FYI. I won't post the log unless you request it but I did save the log from that scan.
Thank you, Gabster

Hi Boopme,
First in answer to your question ... I am on a router, a hard wired one, and nobody else is on it but me. I'm not on a network. It is just me running solo. I go to the internet and I don't want the internet coming home with me. And I try to keep my computer in absolute stealth mode and I think I do well at that because when I run tests on it from GRC Shields up, it always passes with the best results of true stealth. Hi, Yes I belive the site was under maintenance and the "Advise Page" would not display.
If you nned to know..
Is ???? down for everyone or just me?
Look here
http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/
OK there is Virus alike driver modification and we need to start a new topic for our Malwarre Team.
We need a deeper look. Please go here....
Preparation Guide ,do steps 6 - 9.
Create a DDS log and post it in the new topic explained in step 9 which is here Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs and not in this topic, thanks.
Skip the GMER step instead,Include the RKU log you posted earlier.
Let me know if that went well.

Thank you Gabi.
Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Removal Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.
From this point on the Malware Removal Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.
Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the Malware Removal Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the Malware Removal Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRL Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.
To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.
