There are times when I am using the computer that I have noticed the fan on the computer is running at its highest level constantly. When I open the task manager, I have noticed that dllhost.exe is using 50 percent of the cpu. Does not happen all of the time. Can't really pin down the root cause. Can anyone help? I will link a previous thread with another malware removal specialist to help in this process. Thanks.

DLLhost.exe is the Microsoft DCOM DLL Host Process that manages DLL based applications. The COM+ hosting process controls processes in the Internet Information Services (IIS) and is used by many programs. It loads .NET Runtime for example. There can be multiple instances of DLLhost.exe running at the same time. Complaints of high CPU utilization by this process is not uncommon and Microsoft has published several articles to address the issue.

The articles discuss the possible causes of high CPU and advise how to install and use Debugging Tools for Windows to troubleshoot and investigate. If you need assistance to analyze a dump, you can contact Microsoft Support.
