Posted Image When posting a log please put the type of infection you have in the topic title. IE: Winfixer, Virtumonde, WinTools, WebSearch, Home Search Assistant, etc.

HijackThis Log: Please help Diagnose Adware infected system

Hi to everyone here at the forum. My PC has been infected with some adware, and I am having trouble removing it. The problem is uncalled popups from "cdn.optmd.com" showing up randomly when using both Firefox and IE (latest versions).

I have run a number of AV scans, including Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D, but to no avail. I am posting my HijackThis log below, in hopes someone can help me get rid of it. Also, if you find any other weirdness besides that, don't be shy and let me know :).

Just thought I would add DDS and GMER logs as well, but DDS didn't seem to create an attach.txt, only a dds.txt and gmer.log is too big to upload.

Hi Teknique,

  • Download OTL to your desktop.
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
  • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
    • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
    • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply.
