HP Pavilion g71 - Randomly starts typing '8's and wont stop

HP Pavilion g71

Kind of a random situation. I a actually have a client who has a laptop through my company that we will service. But the only issue is that the # '8' will start typing automatically and will sometimes just spam like 888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888.

Any ideas as to how this issue may have started or what could fix it?

P.S. I am not in possession of the laptop and cannot give any more details about the device other than the current issue at hand.

Sounds like something is causing the keys to stick.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.
