how to get rid of this!! It has RUINED my laptop!! PLEASE tell me this can be fixed before I throw this in the lake!!!

When posting a log please put the type of infection you have in the topic title. IE: Winfixer, Virtumonde, WinTools, WebSearch, Home Search Assistant, etc. Do not bump your topic. We try to resolve logs on a first come/first served basis. By bumping your log you will be pushed back in line due to the new date of your bump.

Hey everybody...I am a semi-computer illiterate person with a HUGE problem....boot.mebroot!! I am running Windows xp and have NO idea a) how i got this and how to get rid of this!! It has RUINED my laptop!! PLEASE tell me this can be fixed before I throw this in the lake!!!

Preparation Guide ,do steps 6 - 9.
Create a DDS log and post it in the new topic explained in step 9,which is here Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs and not in this topic,thanks.
If Gmer won't run,skip it and move on.
Let me know if that went well.
