Some types of malware will target security tools to keep them from running properly. If TDSSKiller does not run, try renaming it. To do this, right-click on TDSSKiller.exe, select Rename and give it a random name with the .com file extension (i.e. 123abc.com). If you do not see the file extension, please refer to these instructions. In some cases it may be necessary to redownload TDSSKiller and randomly rename it before downloading and saving to the computer or to perform the scan in "safe mode".
If it still will not run using any of the methods above, then download and run Symantec's FixTDSS.exe (Backdoor.Tidserv Removal Tool).

I tried all sorts to get rid of this one. 4 virus/malware checkers didn't even find the infection. TDSS Killer wouldn't run even after being renamed. I eventually came up with this method.
1. Boot the PC with "The Ultimate Boot CD for Windows". (You will need to create this on a clean PC).
2. Run TDSS Killer - no need to rename it.
Obviously not a detailed guide, but hopefully it will help someone get rid of this nasty rootkit.
