OK, nothing too bad there, CF just made a registry backup. If you're planning on reformatting, I would start to back up your files. Don't back up any programs (anything in c:\windows or c:\program files), or SYS, DLL, EXE, COM, BAT, PIF, SCR files...only your irreplaceable documents such as photos, emails, videos, documents, etc. Once copied, scan the external hard drive with an MBAM full scan and an antivirus scan to ensure it is clean.

Then, you can reformat. Need any help with that?

Ok. It is good to finally get to a point where I know it is safe to back up my files.
I am happy backing up my files and reformatting the har drive - that is not a problem.

Thank you for ll your help and persistence and congratulation on having a daughter!

THanks! Glad we were able to get this booting for you. Make sure to do a full reformat, not a "repair install" of Windows and you'll be as good as new. Safe surfing!
