questions on a gaming laptop

Hey everyone, I had a few questions about buying a new laptop. I'm aiming to spend about 800 to 1000 dollars and was hoping to pick up a decent laptop off newegg or a similar site. I just got stationed at fort Gordon, which has basically nothing in the way of computer shops so I'm going to have to buy online. Anyways, I'm hoping to use it for gaming, and I'm hoping to run mw3/black ops as well as stuff like starcraft 2 and whatnot.

What should I be looking to pick up? Any help would be appreciated

Well to run a gaming laptop, you need some processing power from both the cpu and gpu. As well as a decent amount of ram for gaming. I quickly found one at newegg that may interest you, although it's recertified; Link.

I'm slightly confused on processor speeds. How does an I7 compare to an i5 and whatnot. The i7s I see are usually listed as like 1.7-1.8 ghz, isn't that a bit low?

The mobile i7 is a quad core whereas the mobile i5 is dual core.

I have used a similar laptop from the N53 before and the speakers are AWESOME! This processor is a lot faster then the 1st gen i7 and has the newer Nvidia generation graphics card also with a faster hard drive.

The reason why the i7,i5,i3 are low in speed in the specs is for at the minimum speed it'll run at (this is used to save power for laptops), while using turbo boost, it increases its speed depending at what your doing, such as gaming,video editing, and etc.

My current laptop is running an i7 (1st gen ) cpu and it's multitasking and cpu power is awesome. (although I should've waited for another year for the 2nd gen for more speed)

I would still go for my pick due to the benchmarks for the graphics card:
