"[Error number: 0x8DDD0002]

I realized that due to my lack of knowledge I an probably confusing "user accounts" with the system administrator settings. I cannot find the system administrator settings. Can you help me find it and lets see what if there and possibly set up a new system adminsitrator to see if that is recognized.

THis MS repair sit did not fix it. I still get this error message:
"[Error number: 0x8DDD0002]

SO at control panel I can find "user accounts" but I cannot fiond a location for the system 'admiinistrator". I beleive I hae confused "user accounts' with "system administrator" in my mind. Is it possible that the malware set a new system administrator and that I need to find that and reset the administrator? If that is resolved the MS site error woould be addressed. How can I find the admiinstrator site? I will tell you I have gone into "run' typed mmc started local users and seen the 'console root' but found no "users' at all?? Send help.

Have you worked your way through these instructions? If not, give it a shot.

More investigation at my end. I went to Control panel, user and confirmed my two accoutns are administrators. There were no others showing. I then created a new user and gave him administrator rights. I then went to the MS update programa dn ran it to see if the MS site would recognize my new user as an administrator. It did not., SO MS update is not recognizing my users as authorized to download. Also remember I am still being shunted to the Windows update site which is not the correct MS Update site anyway. I then went into MS DOS and got to the Managment consol MMC got to consol root, then Local users and groups in the Snap in Menu and found the administrator setting. I found Rich and Tracy my 2 administrators as hoped . I also found a listing for "ananymous" but could not open it or figure out how to delete it. That may be a placeholder in the form/file or a rogue. It did seem to confirm my users were set up right and were administrators. Should we try to delete the anonymous administrator and if so how?
Then to my surprise Eset NOD flashed that there were 5 updates to download and did I want to download now. I said 'yes" and it displayed and loaded 5 MS updates. It did not show the MS site. SO we have cleared the block to the point where it did download somehow. I then tried the MS Update program again and it still had the same error message and went to the wrong site. SO some progress may have been from your 'fix it'.
Now my questions: Can we download the MS update module of Windows XP professionsl from somewhere and just overwrite it? Next question: Can we get into that program module and insert the correct default address for MS Updates? Next can we in that Module see who has admnistrator rights to approve the download? It seems to me now we are down to the internal working of that program module, maybe we have been all along, but now I understand it better. Can you suggest any more ideas? Automatic updates is still disabled and I cannot see the update history so it is worth the trouble.I am learning a little and trying to help. Thanks.
