Approx. 1.3 GB of space is used for Microsoft .NET Framework and the various service pacts that have been installed over time on my computer. Is there a way for me to remove these entries and reinstall just one updated program?

That's not how .NET Framework works. Different apps use different versions. So you may need them all.

Depends on the system.

Since NET Framework can be an essential part of Windowss...I would be looking for other obvious better candidates (e.g., video, music, graphics files) to move/remove if I was concerned about space on a partition/drive.
