I am a big gamer and i was woundering when choosing my computer does it matter what type of computer or should i just worrp about what type of video card to buy?

It depends on the tip of gamer you are, I would go for an AMD x6 with maby 4Gig Memmory and a good gaming card.

I have an AMD Phenom x4 965 Black Edition
4Gig DDR3 gaming RAM
Western Digital Carviar Black 640Gig HDD
ATI Sapphire HD5750 Vapor-X screen card.

and I can play almost all games on high spec.

So you don't need to go extreme with the card... but it will help if you can.

If you are solely looking to game...get a computer whose motherboard supports 2 or more video cards, SLI, and or crossfire. look for a motherboard that can handle more then 4gb of ram, at a freq of 1600mhz. look for a motherboard that uses a newer chipset like the new core i5 or i7 from intel or AMD x4 or x6 cores. In your GPU, look for at least 1gb ddr5 at 128 bit. make sure to get a stronger PSU of approx 650watt or higher, depending on the power reqs of your video card(s)

It also matters what games you play and the budget.

The kind of games you intend to play, will give you an idea of how good a GFX card you need and a budget will help you narrow down the options to the one that works best for your requirements!

And yes, an AMD x4/x6 based rig does offer better value, especially when it comes to gaming.

AMD is good for tight budget builds. If your budget is high then Intel would be a good option.

AMD processor + ATI graphics is a good budget choice
