Could someone please tell me how good, bad, or standard these netbook specifications are?

Processor: Intel Atom Processor N455
1.66GHz, 512KB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB

Display: 10.1" WSVGA Acer CrystalBrite LED-backlit display
1024x600 Resolution

Memory: 1024MB DDR3 SDRAM Memory

Video: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 w/ 64MB of dedicated video memory.

Hard Drive: 250GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive

Communications: 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi CERTIFIED
10/100 Fast Ethernet (RJ-45)

Webcam: 1.3 Megapixel HD Webcam (1280 x 1024)

Battery: 3-cell Li-ion Battery (4400 mAh)

Pallet Quantity: 135 units per pallet

None of this makes any sense to me, so I was hoping someone here could clear it up.
Thanks in advance for the help.

It's not a state of the art system, but it's fine for running XP and performing normal tasks (email, web surfing, light game play, etc). What is it you want to do with the system?

Remember that there is NO cdrom drive on the system.
This to me is a major drawback of the netbooks.
You cannot buy a piece of software and install it without buying an external drive first.
Then you will be close to the price of a laptop.

If all you want to do is to get on the Internet they are fine.
With the fairly slow processor and video card you wont be able to do any gaming.

Personally I dont think they are worth the money.
In the beginning there was the command line.

As to the fact that netbooks don't have an optical drive, I bought an external USB drive when I got my netbook a couple of years ago. The external drive hasn't been used in over a year and really isn't needed since there are other ways to get software installed on the machine. I would say the optical drive is only necessary if the netbook is your only computer.

Wow, im suprised at how many replies this topic has gotten already! Thanks for such fast help!

Allan: This computer runs Windows 7 starter. I will be using it just for basic internet surfing and light gaming.

Eyesee: I dont use CD-ROMS much anyway. I was planning to upgrade the video card, not sure what I can do about the proccessor, but that's a topic for another section of the form. The netbook only costs $230, so I am getting about what I paid for. Besides, ANYTHING would be better than the comuputer im typing this post with. This machine is terrible in every sense of the word. It will probably be unuseable in a year or so.

It's doubtful you will be able to upgrade the video in that netbook.
