bios stalls press F2 to start bios stalls requiring F2 to start

Hello ~ setting up an older N.E.C. powermate ML7 running Plentium 4 for a friend , when pressing the start button the post screen flashes twice and then stalls showing keyboard error press F2 to continue

if i press F2 into bios screen then press escape and then press enter the pc starts up normally nothing seems to help ~ any ideas would be greatfully received thankyou

Hi blackpool_bloke,
Have you checked to see if the Keyboard has any stuck keys, It is always a good idea to try another keyboard in situations like this, in that way you can then determine if the problem is with the keyboard (stuck key, faulty), or computer (motherboard, port, BIOS).
