My mom has a Inspirion 1545. Yesterday the computer crashed. Today it is coming up that there is no internal hard drive. What can I do about it? Im running tests and everything else is coming up good. THe memory tests are passing as well. How can I have a memory with no hard drive? Help!!!

The hard drive is there, it just doesn't work anymore apparently. This is likely related to the crash you speak of.

Note the difference between a hard disk drive and memory (aka RAM).

I hope your mom has backups or there wasn't anything overly important on the computer, as data recovery is unlikely (but possible).

Is the computer still under warranty? Enter the service tag here to find out: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/my_systems_info/details?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=anavml

Also remove the hard drive cover so you can access the hard drive and reseat it just incase the laptop may have been dropped etc dislodging it somehow. It will not do any harm also to reset the BIOS also. But to be honest, if it crashed in use it is not looking too good for the drive or motherboard.
