Having removed Firefox from Ubuntu Natty (Don't use it, prefer Chromium for various reasons) the Icedtea plugin is also uninstalled. If I try to reinstall the plugin, Firefox gets reinstalled too. Does anybody know a way to install the plugin, without reinstalling Firefox?
Cheers

It is best to have a backup browser installed incase the other one bugs outs. Firefox is well supported on Linux.
My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

Thanks for your reply Cryptodan, I have kind of rectified the situation. I purged java and manually installed it. Still didn't work with Chromium, installed Opera and it works fine. Opera runs much better than Firefox or Chromium for me. Gonna keep Chromium tho (as a backup browser).

That is odd that Firefox doesnt work well for you, what version are you using and what are your system specs?

I'm dual-booting Ubuntu and XP on an old laptop. Firefox 4 was the version running on Ubuntu, I run Pale Moon on XP on the computer which is Mozilla based and runs very well. I just find that Chromium and Opera run much faster on Ubuntu. Specs........
