Last night I dropped my computer, happily it was still on and working but froze after a bit. Once restarted it will freeze when attempting to open any program; can open start menu then will freeze. Started in safe mode and everything seems to work fine.

I would try running the chkdsk /r command...something is amiss at normal boot, it seems.

Hmmm. Could be a hard drive issue. I also recommend to do a chkdsk . You could also try a hard disk test.
