Hi
Was just looking through Dell lappy

the Dell Inspiron u540505in8

has usb 3.0 costs INR Rs 35,300
Inclusive of Delivery and taxes

Their is another at same requirement

u540506in8 with a dedicated GC 37,550

just INR 2,550 more,any thoughts

I don`t need a GC true but with USB 3.0 and a GC I feel spending INR2000 more is like a bonus!

Some people say that dell tends to use old hardware or whatever they meant

So is their any issue cause I plan on getting this one for sure!!!

Lenova is a good brand, Ive seen a lot of acers with heating issues, Toshibas are nice, I predominantly use HP/compaq, never have any major issues with them, and what few I do have, HP customer support takes care of extremely fast, they get a A+ in customer service. The top brands I usually recomend are HP/compaq, Toshiba, ASUS, and Lenova.

I see HP/Compaq are the main buggers with there monitor issue, overheating etc and they not that easy to take apart i have done it successfully before.

Ive never had a cooling issue with any HP laptops, Ive had one screen go out with my DV8000, one week before the warranty expired. HP sent me the packaging for it, paid for all the shipping, replaced the screen, and got it back to me 2 days before the warranty expired, and have had no issues with the computer since. Have had that particular laptop for going on 5 years now. Have a second compaq Ive had for about 6 months with no issues, and Ive resold multiple Hp/compaq laptops over the last couple years without any problems whatsoever.

Maybe you got lucky with the models you used  Practically my uncles who works in a computer repair shop, has repaired a lot of HP/Compaq laptops with those monitor issue and a lot overheating issues which causes it to turn off.

maybe its just the area then, or maybe the lot that got sold to that area, cuz ive sold several to, and while I do a lot of computer repairs have never had noticed a problem, with one exception. I have dissassembled several different models of laptop, and the only model that ever had poor cooling design, is the dv6000, it was rather poor, and Id never recomend that particular model, but it seems to be the one flukemodel. I a few Occasionally see a overheated one from the other series, but not enough to suspect poor cooling-every laptop is plagued to a certain degree with limited airflow, and can be overheated easily by factors such as being left to run all the time, running for extended periods of time on a bed/pillow or even on ones lap, (believe it or not thats not good for them) getting the vents clogged up by pet hair, cigarrette smoke, dust, etc. Being in an extremely hot environment etc. Theres a lot of variables when it comes to laptops and cooling.

Possibly. That is true crap does get suck in the cooling fan. Earlier in the year my cousin was telling me how his Compaq was overheating. I had a look at the temperature and it was a whooping 86 Celsius. So took it apart and when i get to the fan, it was pretty clean, so just brushed the dust that was there which was barely any. Put it back together and it still the same temperature, so that pretty much wasted my time taking it apart. My uncle recently called me up about his HP Pavillion laptop and he said when he turns it on, there is nothing on the screen although there is lights. I am already suspecting it is a monitor issue, which i will try to fix it myself after my exams. He also told it runs hot a lot of the time.

Hi again I need help I`m not able to decide whether to go in for a one with a dedicated Graphics card

The dell laptop I mentioned in my older post costs slightly more but with added features

Is it more future proof than the lenovo?

Can I be sure that paying extra for the dell will make sure the laptop stays for about 3-4 years
