Internet explorer will not connect

I have a dell d620 and optiplex 745 that would not connect to the internet. I have repalced the hard drive on both machines and still won't connect. Does anyone have any ideas

Error messages received?

Are the two systems you mention...networked?

Wired or wireless connections?

What is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?
