Unless I'm mistaken, your system is performing a destructive recovery and the system should be returned to the same state as when it shipped. But you'll know soon enough.

Right on. I did a destructive recovery. It restored the computer to SP1. I have since then updated to SP2. After that I have about 75 windows updates, the last one is SP3. The estimated time said 1 hour. So I guess i'll find out soon enough if everything has worked.

I'll let you know my results.
