When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix log. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.

To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

If you have not received help after three days, please post a link to your topic HERE.

That's another malwrae that's trying to phone home.

Let's see if a different online will run

Please run the F-Secure Online Scanner
Follow the Instruction here for installation.
Accept the License Agreement.
Once the ActiveX installs,Click Full System Scan
Once the download completes, the scan will begin automatically.
The scan will take some time to finish, so please be patient.
When the scan completes, click the Automatic cleaning (recommended) button.
Click the Show Report button and Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

hmmmm, not getting very far with this either :(

reading the F-secure page I saw that I needed an updated version of Java so I did that, but not w/o problems. it gave me this "Error. Installer: Wrapper. Create file failed with error 5: Access is denied." but it opens java.com and I clicked on something to tell me which version I have and it is the most recent updated version 6 (update 25).

so, I went back to the F-secure page, click the license terms acceptance, click "run check" and I get "the application's digital signature has been verified. do you want to run the application?" when I click "run" I get "the publisher cannot be verified by a trusted source. code will be treated as unsigned." great, so I click "ok" and it starts all over from "the application's digital signature...." blah, blah, blah.

stuck again....will await instructions. thanks.

here is the "code will be treated as unsigned" message, if it helps:

java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\security\trusted.certs(Access is denied)

It must be a malware that is protected by a driver or service. We have to send you to the DDS log forum and find it.

We need a deeper look. Please go here....
Preparation Guide ,do steps 6 - 9.

Create a DDS log and post it in the new topic explained in step 9,which is here Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs and not in this topic, thanks.
If Gmer won't run, skip it and move on.
Let me know if that went well.

It went okay. small trouble with GMER. it started up on its own and had one thing checked that shouldn't have been checked. so I unchecked it and it ran for hours, literally. but it ran and I posted my new thread. any idea what the wait time is? many thanks, once again, for your help. wish I didn't have to come here but at the same time I'm glad you guys are here! thanks, tobyo

Yep, that's why I was trying to clean this here as the wait is about 4/5 days.

Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Removal Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the Malware Removal Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the Malware Removal Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the Malware Removal Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRL Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.
