Computer Blackout ! Virus/Hack ?

Got some desktop thing called "Windows Vista Recovery" & some werid file with a red x on it it was kinda like this "OxoZdfyjgz" bunch of weird letters had atleast 10-15 "error" boxes pop up / turned computer off booted in safe mode EVERYTHING GONE (desktop, start menu,music, pics, documents) / BUT my C:is normal / Is this a virus ? Hack ? If so how can i fix this ? HOW CAN I GET MY FILES & STUFF BACK & GET RID OF WHATEVER HACK/VIRUS THIS IS ? PLEASE HELP ME PLEASE !
