BleepingComputer.com: Best Quality Netbook

I'm going on a trip later this summer. I'm looking at a netbook to take with me. The primary uses will be 1) google maps to figure out where the hell I'm going that day. This will probably only be used in the hostel since getting lost is half the adventure. 2) skype, I have a four year old who I want to be able to talk to. 3) movies in the airport and on the plane.

I have a couple questions. First what kind of processor should I be looking at to get all this done. Movies will probably be downloaded ahead of time, not streamed, so will any of this actually be that demanding on the netbook?

What is the best quality video you can watch on netbooks? This is probably limitted by the screen resolutions so what is normal netbook resolution and what is the "ultimate netbook resolution"?

Which netbooks have the best build quality? I'm not abusive to my stuff but I don't baby things either. Ontop of that I like holding good quality products that feel like they'll last. What brand should I be looking at? This question is probably the most important to me!

Finally do you guys have reccomendations for something that would meet my needs, any netbooks that you'd definitely reccomend?

PS budget is around 300 but I could up it if need be (or go lower if there's a sweet deal out there)

You might want to look into the latest netbooks with the new AMD Fusion chip. They offer common netbook specs with much better graphics.

Personally, I've been happy with my Samsung GO N310 for the past year and a half.

Be sure to shop around and compare values (quality and features for the price you're paying). It's the subtle things that set netbooks apart from each other, if you look close enough.

I spent a few months looking before I found the one I wanted.

Since kN mentioned that, a ASUS Eee PC 1015B-MU17-BK would be also a good option and it has the 6 series graphics card.
