start menu

After getting rid, or so I think, of a nasty virus/malware that disabled my executables and hid my files I am now having problems withe the start menu. when I click on start and go to programs all my programs are listed, but they all say empty. when I go to windows exp and check all my programs are listed in program files and they all work now, but start menu is screwed up.
