BleepingComputer.com: Domain user to share folder from server?

I am a net admin working remotely and I wish to allow my onsite technical contact the ability to share network folders from a server (a 2nd Domain Controller, not root DC). He currently has the ability to Log in locally, create subfolders under one folder and set permissions. When he tries to share the folder her gets an error.

"An error occurred while trying to share <ShareName$>. Access is denied.
The shared resource was not created at this time." [OK]

I've looked through group policy and played around with folder owner setting but nothing seems to allow this to happen. I do NOT want this user to be a member of the Domain Admin group.

Any help would be ...very nice.

I would think they would need to be a power user or local admin to share the folder

What server software are you running?

Win 2k3 std w SP2
Pretty standard setup. No custom gpo's.

You could add them to the server operators group. It may give them more rights than you would like however so check it out. They can log on locally, add and remove shares, format a hard disk, as well as a few other tasks.
