BleepingComputer.com: No display after installing video card

My computer freezes at startup with blue vertical lines on the screen. I bought a visiontek radeon HD 4350 graphics card to replace my old one, but when I installed it, there was no display on the screen. I made sure it was installed correctly, but the screen remained blank. It came with a CD, but I can't update the graphics card if the screen won't turn on. When I replaced the new graphics card with my old one, it froze again at startup but at least something showed up on the screen. What can I do to make sure the new video card works? I bought the card from Dell, and the rep. told me that it was compatible with my computer. I was also told that I wouldn't need to upgrade my power supply.

Which output are you using eg. VGA, DVI etc?

I'm using a VGA output

On one of your previous topics, you were trying to change the bracket to a full size, did you plug in that cable which links to the VGA slot properly?

Thanks for the tip!!! I had entered it the other way around, I thought there was only one way for it to fit.
Apparently, it can be inserted both ways. It works now! I only hope nothing goes wrong when I uninstall the drivers and try to install the new ones
