BleepingComputer.com: Computer hard drive says no space - why?

My computer hard drive says it has no space. It is an Acer computer, running Vista. The hard drive is split in 2 (one says Acer and the other says DATA). One side (DATA) says it has plenty of room, but nothing saves to it, while the other side (Acer) has everything saved to it and claims to be full. I've deleted plenty of files and programs and made space, but the next day it is gone again despite not saving or adding anything else. The amount of space I have changes, but always remains really low.

The hard drive has been in 2 parts since new, I didn't partition it myself.

Why is it stating I have no space and what can I do about it? It is possible to use the other half of the drive?

MiniToolbox is a tiny file (360KB), so I'm sure, it'll fit into your drive.

MiniToolBox is written by a staff member at BC and is perfectly safe to use.
Several of our tools are written by staff here.
If you dont want to take Broni's advice, thats perfectly up to you, but he is telling you exactly what you need to do.

You never did say what size you primary parition is and how much free space it has left.

Consider moving all pictures, music and personal data to the other drive.

Do you think, I'd advice you to download something malicious to your computer?

Click "Start", click on "Computer".
Right click on C drive, click "Properties" and let me know, what's the drive size and how much of a free space you have there.

Drive size says 144GB and free space says 79.3MB (at the moment). It's split into 2 though - that is for C. For D it says 144GB drive size and 143GB free.

With 79.3MB of a free space, your computer may not boot at all, next time around.
You have to start moving stuff from C to D immediately.

The amount of a free space will always fluctuate, due to a various reasons.
For instance, Windows will keep creating temporary files, which after a while may amount to a quite size.

With your size of a hard drive, you should have at least 10GB of a free space.
