Looks like drivers might be native to XP except the WIFI.
Odd that for Vista they list the rest of the drivers but not 2000 or XP.
If you could get an Internet connection working you might just have it go out and detect the drivers.
What devices are splatted in device manager?

Discount the devices that have a + in front of them
Which ones are splatted (!)?
Whats listed in other devices?
Compaq has a V6000T a V6000TX and a V6000Z listed.
Under each they have the drivers you need.
Check the sticker on the bottom of the system to identify it.
Here is the link.
Install the chipset drivers first. Then the order really doesnt matter but I always do video, sound, nic, wifi then modem because Im old school.

Edit looked under the laptop is it just says V6000 no letter afterwards. Should i still try them?

You want the Intel chipset
Mobile Intel 945GM graphics
Conexant Audio
Conexant Modem
and Intel Network & WIFI
Looks like its pretty much the same for various models of the V6000 so they should work

Make sure to do the chipset first.
Im speculating on the other drivers based on the last Presario V6000 that I worked on.
The list I gave you were the drivers it used.
Wort case scenario is that the driver wont find the hardware needed and therefore wont install.

What I do is use a flash drive & make folders for each ie chipset, video, sound, wifi etc.
Download the drivers into the appropriate folder then double click on the installer.
Always do the chipset first.
Then when they are succesfully installed I burn a cd for future use.
Please double check & confirm the model number located on the sticker on the bottom of the system to ensure that we have the right ones.
Edit: Does the system have a 5 in 1 card reader on it?
If so these may be the correct drivers for the system.
