Im sorry I havent replied, Im having hardware problems now.
SIGH!
after the screw up with my removal of my printer and cleaning out my tower with canned air and a vaccum... and plugging my monitor back in
and it being bluish and being an artist, color being very important, I freaked thinking I had screwed something up (but luckily it was just a coincidental frying of my monitor as I had a spare upstairs and it worked fine)
HOWEVER
In the process of hooking everything back up.... my fingernail accidently flicked the 115/250 switch it was plugged in but not on and it arched when I switched it back. No big POW but a little spark.
I thought for sure I screwed my computer up, but it started up fine... ran all day and part of the next day but then it shut down. I started it back up but after about 10 minutes it shut down again.
I can mess around with it, flicking the reset button and get it to come on now and then for a while, but it will eventually shut off.
It gives me a beep code for Ram, either 3 or 1, 3, but I have tried to replace the ram, didnt solve the problem. Replaced the power supply because the internal fan on the power supply wasnt running so I thought it was getting over heated, that also didnt help it still shuts down.
Most of the time, it starts to power up and just stops and shuts down, but sometimes it will finish and run for a while and then shut down.
So Im figuring its my motherboard.
Is there a chance that I screwed something up in my regedit thats making it unstable when I removed the HP stuff? Should I just hoook up the 2TB external when I can get it running and back up as much as I can and reformat?

Im posting from my work computer right now. Is there a way if I can get it running for a short time when I get home that there is a diagnostic I can run that you can see any errors?

It appears as this is no longer a malware issue.
You'll be better served in other parts of the forum like
Operating systems or Hardware sections.
I suggest you post in an appropriate section and describe you issue.

so as far as the spybot search and destroy, with the other spyware things you reccomended, I assume from what you said, I can remove that one.
I'll keep the mbam and remove all the other stuff you said. I suppose I can go into my msconfig and stop the unhinder.exe
For now I guess I'll give up on refilling my start menu it isnt that important, I can just put stuff in a folder on my desktop I use a lot.
I have a folder called art programs, music and movie programs and I usually get it from there anyway.
I think after I get this motherboard issue fixed I'm just going to do a reformat and start with a clean slate. Thanks for all your help!
Your a peach.
hey... any chance you need business cards or anything? I can get them for a really good deal, and I would like to make you some for your time!
My treat!
