I use my computer mostly for surfing the web. I have an Apple MacBook and use iphoto for pics, a few games and of course email. I know very little about the inner workings of my computer - just turn it on, check FaceBook, play Sporcle, check the weather, local newspaper and t.v. channel, etc. After making a hotel reservation, I started to look for ideas for table settings. I clicked onto an image and BAM!! Mac Protector told me I had viruses! Feeling very scared that I was going to get infected and my credit card info had been hacked (since I just made a reservation using it), I pushed buttons I shouldn't had and realized this was not an Apple program telling me I had a problem. I got on my iphone and looked up MacProtector and found this web site. It took me step by step in easy to follow terms and directions to get rid of this application. I don't know who to thank, but I hope they read this and know how much I appreciate this site! I look forward to maybe learning a little more about my computer.
