The problem came back:

• Just turned on computer maybe 20-25 minutes ago.
• Within 2-3 minutes of loading my desktop, wuauclt.exe started to spike up gradually to 150,000 k in memory usage.
• The wuauclt.exe program declined to about 60,000-80,000 k in a couple minutes, then it spiked up to 150,000 k again. (This pattern happened maybe 2 or 3 times)
• Next, the wuauclt.exe program declined to 89,000 k in another couple of minutes and stayed at this amount for 5-7 minutes whereupon it shot down in memory usage.
• Right after the wuauclt.exe shot down in memory usage, the program "ccsvchst.exe" shot up to 150,000 k for 2-3 minutes and then declined back down to 10,000 k.

I'm not sure how helpful these details are, but I just thought I'd include them.

The problem did not show up today. I'm not sure why that is; it's usually consistent each day after it comes back. I'll see what occurs tomorrow.

The problem came back today. However, I noticed that the duration of the fluctuation was less than 20 minutes ,whereas before, the fluctutation lasted for 20-30 minutes. The wuauclt.exe program stayed at 7,000 K for a minute and then proceeded to increase to around 150,000 K. It then declined down to 30,000 K and stayed at this amount for a minute. This cycle occurred maybe 3-4 times. I should also note that when the wuaucle.exe program declines to 30,000 K - 90,000 K, the svchost.exe program increases up to more than 100,000 K. After the 3-4 cycles ended, and the wuauclt.exe disappeared from the programs list, the ccsvchst.exe program sharply increased to 150,000 K and then decreased equally as fast down to a manageable amount.

As I said before, RAM usage shouldn't concern you much. You should be monitoring CPU usage.

Today the problem showed up again. Duringn the fluctuation period, the "System Idle Process" and "svchost.exe" programs took up most of the CPU. After the fluctuation died, the "System Idle Process" and "ccsvchst.exe" programs took up most of the CPU.

At this point...

With the information you have provided I believe you will need help from the malware removal team. I would like you to start a new thread and post a DDS log HERE and include a link to this thread. Please make sure that you read the information about getting started before you start your thread.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient. Help is on the way!
