When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix log. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.

To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

Surfbot Virus???

Hey everyone. I am new to the forum but got directed here by a friend who sugggested it was really helpful so here goes...

My laptop has been infected by a virus that keeps bringing up popups on the desktop whenever IE or Firefox is opened.

The popups most commonly refer to surfbot/servbot or to RecvData issues and then eventually lead to one for topmarketresearch.

I currently have both Malwarebytes AM and Super AntiSpyware and have run scans for both but the problem persists. also have TFC and have done scans with that.

What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?
