USB Device Not Recognized - but nothing attached I think its the internal hub itself

"USB device not recognized.
One of the usb devices ... has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it"

I get this message every few minutes even when nothing is plugged into the USB ports. However, nothing I plug in works. I've gone into Device Manager, uninstalled all the ports/hubs, rebooted, reinstalled them, etc. The laptop is running on AC power, not battery.

This just started a few days ago.

Uninstall the controllers...not the ports/hubs. Reboot.
