I recently replaced my mother board because it appeard that the processor (Athlon4050E) was fried. A friend in the IT buisiness did the installation of the hardware and then restored from the system disks (Win Vista Home Premium OEMAct Acer Inc). Seemed to run fine, I had updated my Virus protection (spybot search and destroy free home editon, and Malwarebytes full purchased home version ),and Win Vista Srvce Pack 2, as well as the drivers for my Display and NVIDIA Chipset (Graphics set i believe). The computer locked on me when i was trying to reload World of Warcraft from the Install disk, it just stopped responding while the exe for World of Warcraft was just starting. I had to hardboot, and now i cannot boot from the Harddrive, from the system restore disks, Or even the NVIDIA Boot agent on the Mother board. When i try to restore using the disks, i get the message " X:\RyTools\NAPP6.exe-dialog box, Restore Failed, Reason:0xa0000000. " If anyone has any ideas , please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Worth reading, Changing a Motherboard or Moving Hard Drive - http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/moving_xp.html

I don't know anything about Acer systems or recovery/restore mechanisms...but I would not expect a change of motherboard to be conducive to using such as a means of installing Windows. The drivers and settings are A, while the new board is B.
