The picture that you have added as a avatar is not clear enough to see. In order to post a photo here you will need to open an account (free) to host your picture on a web site like Photobucket. You can upload the photo to them, once it is there there will be two options below the picture for a HTML or IMG code, you will want the IMG code to post here. You simply click on the IMG code (highlighted in yellow) to copy it and then paste it in your post.

Whether you think you can or can't, either way you are right.

A couple of reasons.

First, having a hard drive port is something I could use for other stuff anyway.

Primarily, because I never leave my external drive permanently connected to my computer. I feel safer about keeping junk off of it this way. I also recently had a hardware issue that corrupted all the files on my computers hard drive. I had to wipe the whole thing and re-install everything.

I use the external drive mainly to back up everything on my computers and save important stuff, like tax info. I don't want to take any chances on losing any of this stuff or have anyone else figure out how to get access to this info.

In that case I would suggest that an external enclosure will be less expensive, and provide better physical protection that a docking station.

Newegg has a good selection of these, you can view the here. They start out at about fifteen dollars plus shipping. Actually I just saw one there for fifteen dollars including shipping.

I wouldn't swear to this, but it is about the right size for a USB port.

Well, that's what I said it was to begin with. It's the end that the smaller side of the USB cable plugs into.
