Hello,
I want to scan a document, save it and then edit that document by adding info. It is an application form. How do I do it. I am using a modern scanner, XP home,SP3 and Microsoft Home and Student 2010.
I have tried but am unable to do it. Hoping someone can help.
Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum!
When you scan a document you basically take a picture of it, pretty much just like a photocopy.
If you want to edit the document you need OCR software (Optical Character Recognition)
Whats the make, model of the scanner so that we can check to see if the manufacturer has OCR software available.

There might be another way besides OCR, and that's via PDF editing, for instance in Foxit.
This assumes that the scanner can save the scan as a .pdf.
