I have a laptop back thats been in storage for 2 yrs. Its windows xp home. (2002) Is there any way of recovering or changing this password. And YES I promise it is my computer :) I cant even log in as guest. its been set up so i am only user and obviously used a forgettable password.

I am ok with losing data as anything important was backed up when i transfered to new computer.

thanks for any help
sarah

Try to boot in safemode, there usually is a hidden admin account there unless thats the one you are using.

Windows XP has its own wireless service called Wireless zero configuration which might be causing that error. You have a different issue so you might want to post it on a different section.

Is this a lap top?

If so then depending on the make and model there is probably wither a single button or a keyboard combination to press\turn on.
