Thank you soooo much. I really appreciate the help. This sounds much easier than trying to remove the bugs and then installing Win 7. I will remove the other post. I know the shortest distance between two points is a straight line but I tend to take detours.
Bugs in Vista, Want to reformat drive and install 7 is this a good course

BTW, there is nothing wrong with clean installation, if there is basically no data to be lost.
