I have an optiplex 280 gx running Windows XP. it is a small desktop pc with Pentium 4 CPU 300 GHz,2.99 Ghz, 1 gb RAM
it has a plug and play monitor. my question is that i recently tried to use a Benq FP767 flat screen since my old one is pretty old. my pc took so long to load and i could not do much. can a monitor be to much for a system or to strong for the pc? if you havent guessed im pretty self taught and not to savvy lol! ty very much for looking at this post. if there is anything that u can think of to help me id appreciate yr response.

Does this slow down happen in Safe Mode? If you need help getting into Safe Mode you hit F8 just after the POST Screen, and select safe mode. Try it with safe mode.
My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

Not that I am aware of.
Pretty much the video card is what sends the video data to the monitor, so if it was anything, the video refresh rate frequency in Hz or the pixel ratio would be the one over powering the monitor, not the other way around.
If your system is acting slow and it is video related, you might want to double check if your refresh frequency is set too low, or if the screen resolution is set too high.
Bruce.
Please take notice. Oreo and I will not be available until June of 2012.
Thank you for understanding my absence, it is job and college related, so all is good. If I do not answer your PMs this is the reason why. See you all soon!
