BleepingComputer.com: Leftovers from Windows restore virus removal

I got infected with the windows restore virus, running Vista home premium, I followed the guide here for removal.
Rkill, ect
Could get Mbam to run at first, got SUper ASW to run and cleaned some trojans. I then ran Mbam. They come up clean now.
I'm still having issues- error messages from Abby Fine print and my display controller. When I close the message it just pops another 2 or 3.
Most of my files are viewable now,yet desk icons are still greyed out and the program list shows only 3. something is left and I need help killing it.

This infection family will also hide all the files on your computer from being seen. To make your files visible again, please download the following program to your desktop:

Unhide.exe


Once the program has been downloaded, double-click on the Unhide.exe icon on your desktop and allow the program to run. This program will remove the +H, or hidden, attribute from all the files on your hard drives. If there are any files that were purposely hidden by you, you will need to hide them again after this tool is run.

Can you be more specific with the errors if they still exist after ESET scan.

ok ran unhide, thattook care of the programs and icons. Ran ESET and it found 2 instances of JS/Kryptic.AC trojan
1 in IOLO system status and 1 in the sidebar gadjet..
Rebooted and no more ABBY fine script errors. I checked SPybot andgot it to update and ran it. It found 2 cases of
Fake system malware in the HKEy user/software area.
It is not throwing any more errors right now.

I do have a new desk icon for desktop.ini ? dont know where that came from.

It is one of many normally hidden system files that you revealed. It is not anything bad. Just rehide the system files
by reversing How to see hidden files in Windows
or ignore them if you aren't ready to do that now.


If there are no more problems or signs of infection, you should Create a New Restore Point to prevent possible reinfection from an old one. Some of the malware you picked up could have been saved in System Restore. Since this is a protected directory your tools cannot access to delete these files, they sometimes can reinfect your system if you accidentally use an old restore point. Setting a new restore point AFTER cleaning your system will help prevent this and enable your computer to "roll-back" to a clean working state.

The easiest and safest way to do this is:

• Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools and click "System Restore".
  
• Choose the radio button marked "Create a Restore Point" on the first screen then click "Next". Give the R.P. a name, then click "Create". The new point will be stamped with the current date and time. Keep a log of this so you can find it easily should you need to use System Restore.

• Then use Disk Cleanup to remove all but the most recently created Restore Point.
  
• Go to Start > Run and type: Cleanmgr
  
• Click "Ok". Disk Cleanup will scan your files for several minutes, then open.
  
• Click the "More Options" tab, then click the "Clean up" button under System Restore.
  
• Click Ok. You will be prompted with "Are you sure you want to delete all but the most recent restore point?"
  
• Click Yes, then click Ok.
  
• Click Yes again when prompted with "Are you sure you want to perform these actions?"
  
• Disk Cleanup will remove the files and close automatically.
