I am planning on getting a new hard drive for my system. I would like at least a 500GB Hard Drive. What is the best way to store ring tones and clips? Ubuntu will not install on a desktop that I have. Thought it was the hard drive, but changed it and it will not load either. I have a strong feeling it is the memory.

Opinions, Please.

What kind of computer? Ubuntu not installing is not likely a hard disk problem. We need to know A: what kind of computer is it B: why wont ubuntu install/what it does when you try it C: is there any operating system on the computer at all right now and D: Are you trying to save ringtones and clips on ubuntu, windows, etc? and for what kind of phone?

Have you tried running a hard drive diagnostic tool on the drive to make sure its running properly? You can usually find them from the hard drive manufacturers web site
