New BlueRay combo....

I am looking to get a BlueRay burner combo. I have always had good luck with Lite-On stuff, but have been reading the reviews on the Lite-On iHBS212-08 and some are saying the included software is not all that great nor does it have 64 bit support, seem you have to buy the upgrade software to get it to work on a 64 bit system. What other drives should I look at that would be more suited out of the box for my 64 bit system?

Otherwise, what would be a good or better program to get to burn Blue-Ray, Edit and burn movies already on my drive (VOB files) etc.......

No included software is going to be good. Get the OEM version and better software.
Unfortunately, I don't know much about DVD burning software. I usually use Burnaware or the software included with Windows.

I usually use windows burning software, or NERO, one or the other. Though, the LG blu ray burner I got came with the powerDVD pack, and it burns Blu rays, and everything else rather nicely. I don't know which one you got, but I got the fully loaded blu ray burner with lightscribe and all the little toys.

Try DVDFab which is capable of burning Bluray discs and also all other type of burning. Plus it has some nice conversion features. You try it out yourself before buying the full version.

I have been going through the same homework and decided to take my Intel Dealers suggestion and get a Blue Ray made by LG modle # WH12LS30. He orders them by the dozen and has had no problems with them. If one doesn't like the software it comes with, their are many program to choose from on the net (free) to try. I haven't completed my new build yet so I can't give you a hands on testimonial.

I hooked on ImgBurn for all the burning I do.

Have not had a chance to try it myself on burning BlueRay or on a 64 bit OS.
