problem with internet Browser

Can someone please help to solve this problem.

I am working on windows 2008 server os. i just installed Symantec protection 12.0, I need to activate it. the problem i have is this; my browsers (internet explorer and firefox) will not allow symantec site to load, i get the error message below:

"Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at www.symantec.com".

But other websites are loading, i could load yahoo, google and others.

I have enabled use SSl and TSL of security section under Internet Option of the browser.

Please help.
