CPU Temp

Hi,

I'm running an Intel Pentium T4300 @ 2.10GHz and a Dell Inc. 0G848F (Microprocessor) motherboard. I was just wondering if the following temperatures are at all questionable.

On an average computing day my CPU (T4300) runs about 30-50c with my motherboard about 10 degrees hotter, whereas with an extremely heavy load the cpu shoots up to 95c. How bad is this in terms of temperature. I do know it needs a cleaning.

Is this a lap top?

Just to let you know that water boils at 100°C, so if you ever need a cup of Tea you can boil water on your CPU.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

Ha. Good point. Won't need a run to the microwave upstairs.

It is a laptop, yes. As I said it's also in dire need of a cleaning and one will be administered as soon as I can get a can of compressed air. I have a fan blowing on the intake port on the back right now.

I would highly recommend that you stop using your lap top till you can get it cleaned. Further use under these conditions could loosen soldering joints on the motherboard and cause chips and other electrical components to slip if the lap top is bumped.

Even if it's reaching its max at rare occasions? As I said: on average it's running between 30 and 50

The max temperature for this CPU is 105C. The average temperature you mentioned is fine. Give the compressed air can a shot but usually the most effective way to clean out the CPU fan and heatsink is by taking it apart which i do not recommend doing.
