BIOS is locked down, but I know it'll switch to performance mode (when its needed - i.e. the temp goes above a certain value).
In terms of the cooling components being defective, if this is the case, then it is defective from design, not from this particular build. As the laptop itself is known to suffer from overheating issues, and is known to switch into low power mode due to overheating (it's basically how they dealt with it lol).
So, I'm gonna try making this pad, and see what I end up with. To be honest, I think there is a real calling for *decent* DC powered cooling pads, because all these USB ones are terrible!! Can't wait to make it
