When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix log. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.

To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

Will not allow updates for any programs or a reset to my home page in IE or Firefox. I've run Super antispyware, Malwarebytes, Comodo Antivirus, Ccleaner, Vundo fix, tdsskiller and Sophos Conficker Cleaner tool. I just installed hijackthis 2.0.4 and its say it has a problem writing to host files and explained how to do this manually but windows won't allow me to open the file even as admin. This virus is on my laptop and I'm using my PC to help solve the problem... which is not infected. I kept my programs updated with Secunia but I have been using wifi on an unsecure network and go to facebook to play a game for weeks and just recently was infected. I thought my security was set high enough, clearly not. Thanks for any help you can provide. I have a text file of the results from hijackthis if needed. Thanks
