System won't use more than 3GB of RAM

Hi
so.. few month ago I bought 2 stickies of 2GB ram at speed of 667mhz each.
But my system uses only 3GB at the maximum, even though I got a 64bit system:

my motherboard is ASUS P5VD2-MX
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5VD2MX/#specifications
you can clearly see that this motherboard supports 4GB RAM
I was advised to update my BIOS, but I have no idea how to update and where should I download it from..

To update your BIOS you will have to consult your motherboard manual, as each motherboard is different.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

I don't have the manual, I got this motherboard from long ago and I didn't save it or anything, I never thought I will need it

Your motherboard has onboard graphics which is using your ram up. I believe you can adjust it from the BIOS.

I think I should have my BIOS updated first because there is nothing related to any onboard graphic, the problem is that I don't know how to use a BIN file, can it be open with daemon tools?

You use the Phoenix Award BIOS flash tool version 1.18 to update your BIOS. Go to the download page > BIOS-Utilities > Version V1.18.

If you have difficulties running the Phoenix Award BIOS Flash Tool then please download the ASUS Update V7.06.02 Install Program. After you have installed it, run the ASUS Update utility (Start > All Programs > ASUS > ASUS Update > ASUSUpdate). Select Update BIOS from the Internet drop-box and click Next. Choose Auto Select and click Next. Select the BIOS version you want (the latest one) and press Next. Follow any prompts that appear after it has completed downloading.

If you require some pictures please refer to page 51 and 52 of the motherboard manual.

The reason why the BIOS Flash Tool may not be working is because either it was not designed for a 64-bit computer or your didn't select Vista 64 from the box.

I am getting this error message when trying to open the installation (and yes I picked Vista 64bit)

you may need to download all the utilities from the ASUS Website for your motherboard or use a bootable floppy or flash drive to install the latest BIOS.
