BleepingComputer.com: Some sort of damage from recent trojan.fakeAlert

Late at night on April 5th something got through to my computer. A window popped up and it showed a scan being ran. Some sort of warning that I needed protection for my computer. It would not let me scan with Malwarebytes or any scan program that I have. I finally went into a safemode and was able to use Malwarebytes. Here are the findings below.

April 5th Malwarebytes (windows safemode) full scan

Files Infected:
c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\ibp06511fdfnh06511\ibp06511fdfnh06511.exe (Trojan.FakeAlert) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
c:\documents and settings\Jay\application data\Sun\Java\deployment\cache\6.0\32\30399960-3218eef1 (Trojan.FakeAlert) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

April 7th Malewarebytes regular full scan

Files Infected:
c:\system volume information\_restore{216ea052-0f13-4fe7-8d8e-1d119305b75d}\RP46\A0001913.exe (Trojan.FakeAlert) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

All Malwarebyte scans now show (No malicious items detected) Also scanned with spybot search and destroy. Nothing found.

My CPU usage is running high again. Up to 100% so I'm guessing that is whats causing my videos to freeze up again. Computer is very slow. Browsers are taking a long time to load pages. My date and time was wrong for some reason. I was able to get it to sync today though, after several failed tries. I updated firefox to version 4.0 the other day. It's slower than the older version. For some reason I can't remove firefox at all. Something won't let it be removed. I was going to do a completely new firefox install. But it won't remove from windows. Also my DSL modem isn't working correctly now. I stay online but my modem lights are blinking, so that slows down my internet browsing.

Not sure if I should have even tried to do a system restore, but I tried to restore back to before the night all this happened, but it won't restore to any date before April 5th anyway. Added note: I had just recently gotten help from one of the computer experts on here. (In February) My computer was running great and my CPU usage was staying low enough that my videos were playing fine. Now this happens and my PC is messed up again. I'm not sure, but it seems to be worse now. I don't know what kind of damage this trojan.fakealert did, or what is wrong. I hope someone can help me.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Removal Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the Malware Removal Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the Malware Removal Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the Malware Removal Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MR Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.
