Virus definition update 110411-1 contained an error that resulted in a good number of innocent sites being flagged as infected. Generally, all sites with a script in a specific format were affected.

Our virus lab staff discovered the problem quickly after releasing the bogus update and immediately started working on a fix. The fix was released about 45 minutes after the problematic update and has version number 110411-2. Anyone who still has this problem is kindly asked to manually update the definitions to the latest version, e.g. by right-clicking the avast taskbar icon (the orange (a) ball), and selecting Update -> Engine and Virus Definitions.

While I suspected this issue was a FP, the folks here deserve credit as they were able to figure that out before I was able to get to an avast! site and confirm.

Now I'm just mopping the place and putting things in order like any Bleepin Janitor should do.

I am still not fixed despite have the newest 110411-2 version of virus definitions as this message of Trojan Horse RedirME-inf from "www.facebook.com/plugin....." keeps popping up when I visit internet safety web sites...someone please help :(

Am I infected though or is this just a false notice? I did malwarebytes scan and avast scan both of which said i was good/clean..

Someone please help...?

BIG ISSUE: If I visit facebook's homepage, www.facebook.com, the stupid avast Trjn sign of RedirME shows, blocking the site altogether so that I can't access facebook! Is this a true virus then or infection?? OMG dude someone please HELP!!

Restoring files from the Virus Chest

For those still having issues after the update, you may want to check with avast! Technical Support or avast! Support Forum.
