Hello everybody,

I have a couple of issues with my installation of SP3, but it can't be uninstalled because 'the file specified cannot be found'. Now I am trying to download WinXP SP3(for a single computer, NOT the " IT" version) and it seems that this particular download is not offered as a standalone version.I found several ways to get the IT version but there is a warning on the site not NOT for single computers? What would happen if I tried to install the IT version over the single computer version I have installed now in an attempt to repair it? If you guys recommend against this, I will just do a repair install with SP2 and update from there. Thanks

The Network Installation is for IT professionals for downloading and installing on multiple computers on a network. The download you want can be found here

I was just wondering...what would happen if I installed the IT version on my computer? I read on another site that it shouldn't cause any problems, but I'm too sure about this. What do you say?

They are both 316MB, I don't believe there would be any difference as far as function goes.

The network install is the only way to download SP3 from the MS website...without using Windows Update. It and the link dc3 provided are the same thing.

I use the network installs to avoid going to Windows Update and to provied myself a desktop-installable version of whatever :).
